I thank them for the leadership they continue to give. They continue to inspire all of us to action. Dear brothers and sisters, do remember one thing: Malala Day is not my day. Today is the day of every woman, every boy and every girl who have raised their voice for their rights.

　　我完全支持联合国秘书长潘基文先生领导的全球教育优先计划，还有联合国全球教育特使戈登·布朗和尊敬的大会主席耶雷米奇先生的工作。我感谢他们持续提供的领导能力。他们不断地激励我们作出实践。亲爱的兄弟姐妹们，请记得一件事：“马拉拉日”不是属于我的日子。今日是属于曾为自己的权利说话的每一位女性，每一位男孩和每一位女孩。

　　There are hundreds of human rights activists and social workers who are not only speaking for their rights, but who are struggling to achieve their goal of peace, education and equality. Thousands of people have been killed by the terrorists and millions have been injured. I am just one of them. So here I stand, one girl among many. I speak not for myself, but also those without a voice can be heard. Those who have fought for their rights. Their right to live in peace. Their right to be treated with dignity. Their right to equality of opportunity. Their right to be educated.

　　数以百计的人权活动家和社会工作者不仅为自己的权利发声，同时也努力去实现和平、教育与平等等目标。成千上万的人被恐怖分子杀害，数百万人因恐怖袭击而受伤。我只是其中之一。为此我站在这里，作为那些受到伤害的人群中的一员。我不仅为自己说话，也为那些无法让人听到他们声音的人说话。那些为自己的权利抗争的人。他们能和平居住的权利。他们能受到尊严对待的权利。他们能享有平等机会的权利。他们能接受教育的权利。

　　Dear friends, on 9 October 2012, the Taliban shot me on the left side of my forehead. They shot my friends, too. They thought that the bullets would silence us, but they failed. And out of that silence came thousands of voices. The terrorists thought they would change my aims and stop my ambitions.
